It was August 2013 and I was starting a new career in a new industry. I was so excited however the excitement was just beginning! Late in my first week, I saw him for the first time. Kenny was on vacation when I started but he came back torward the end of my first week. As he walked in the door, I had no idea I was looking at the man of my dreams! This was a moment I would never forget; he was so outgoing, welcoming, and friendly!
Kenny and I made great coworkers and eventually our relationship turned into more. As time went on, I knew there was something special about him. Our conversations were always so natural and easy, we could talk for hours! He started as a mentor to me and turned into a really great friend that I could lean on to for anything.
Our relationship blossomed over four years! We faced more in four years than most couples face in a lifetime but through love and faith, we made it past every obstacle stronger and more connected with each other. I always had said I didn’t believe in love at first sight but this was it, he was the one and I knew it from the start. Ever since we started working together, Kenny was the one I wanted to be by my side for the rest of my life.
We were attending New York Fashion Week this past September together, and I was headed to what I thought was a normal blogger photo shoot at Bryant Park when all of a sudden I saw him. Kenny was standing in the park, in a beautiful quaint spot away from everyone else, looking dapper and with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen him have. As he took my hand and started to tell me how much he loved me, I began to see our future flash in front of me, I knew we were going to have everything we wanted!
Kenny proposed to me in Bryant Park on 9/8/17. He went as far to have a professional photographer and one of my bestie bloggers there to capture the whole thing! I was completely surprised. The unique thing about Bryant Park is that it inspired the actual space we met at in Columbus 4 years prior! That’s why Kenny picked that spot. Even though we were several hundred miles from home, it felt as if we were in the exact spot we first laid eyes on each other!
There are roughly 4 million people who pass through Manhattan on any given day, but on that Friday, Kenny made me feel like it was just he and I and that the city was ours!
