My fiancé and I have been traveling to Cabo San Lucas for a couple years now, and have even claimed a hashtag #ourplace. We both love to travel, and explore together which I love. The first time we visited was in 2016, and we immediately fell in love the minute we stepped outside of the airport. Everyone is so friendly and hospitable, and the best part…you can grab a quick drink (or two) at the bar right outside the airport! We use a super convenient car service that picks us up right in front, takes our luggage, provides drinks on the way to the resort, and lets us play any music we want on our phones. It is the perfect way to start the vacation!
This past year we stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort. This luxury resort is nestled in an exclusive residential development that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and sits on a private coastal bluff. The grounds are absolutely stunning and so serene that you feel like you are in a dream. From exotic animals like peacocks to gorgeous greenery and flowers, you truly are living in an oasis. The beach is private, so you can relax in a cabana, or take a nice morning walk in peace.
One of our favorite amenities was the sky pool, which overlooked the entire resort and had breathtaking views of the mountains. We went up every night to enjoy the sunset with some wine in the hot tub. The experience of being at the top of the resort overlooking the ocean is so breathtaking. You truly forget about everything else and are so in the moment, and I am grateful for those moments Kenny and I had together. With a total of six swimming pools, let’s just say we hopped around a lot and enjoyed each unique pool and their offerings.
Another favorite of ours was Pueblo Bonito’s award-winning Armonia Spa. This dreamy, tranquil, oasis is an absolute must if you visit this resort. Once you are in your cozy robe, you have options of what you can do before your service. I had some refreshing cucumber water while I sat in the hot tub which was heavenly. Kenny and I did our first couples massage, and we both fell asleep, it was so nice and relaxing! Kenny had never had a massage before and said he never would, but on this trip, he couldn’t resist because of how nice the spa was. After our massages, we both went back to the relaxation area, sat in the sauna, and enjoyed more time in the hot tub. The spa was the nicest I have been to! The other impressive part…they sell their own products, and room sprays that smell exactly like the spa, so you know I had to come home with lots of products and sprays!
For dining, you have endless options, ten restaurants and bars to be exact that offer many different cuisines, and lots of different atmospheres from formal, or oceanside dining. Our favorite was Tazuna which had an ocean view and was next to one of their pools. They offer great Japanese dishes, and the sushi was delicious! For convenience and absolutely everything, you could ever want or need, we went to the newest addition to the resort a lot. The Market at Quivira had absolutely everything from Italian, a 50’s diner, gelato, and a gourmet sweets area with the most decadent macaroons. We would grab a quick breakfast and coffee here every morning!
The suite was absolutely amazing, and located at the very top of the resort with the best ocean view. We stayed in the super executive suite that had a full kitchen, large living room with a dining area, a private bedroom and two baths! The master had a great jacuzzi tub perfect for soaking at the end of a long day by the pool. We had two entrances to our patio, one from the bedroom and one from the living room which was so lovely. Waking up to an ocean view every morning was spectacular. The full kitchen was really convenient for making quick snacks on the go, and to make coffee so we could watch the sunrise on the patio.
If you want to take an afternoon trip in to downtown Cabo, it is only a 10-15 minute ride, which makes this resort all the more attractive. You can have the peace and tranquillity in the gated resort, but still be close enough to downtown Cabo. It is a must if you plan on traveling here soon. The shops are so eclectic, and the food is also really great. Kenny and I love renting a cabana on Medano Beach for the day or taking the boat out to Lover’s Beach to enjoy the beautiful waters and beaches.
We not only love to explore the area in which we are in, but also enjoy big resorts like Pueblo Bonito. If you chose not to leave your entire vacation, you don’t have to because everything you could possibly need is right there on site.
I have never been to Cabo San Lucas but it is definitely on my list! Pueblo Bonito is beautiful. It reminds me of where we stayed in Jamaica…everything you could ever want is on site which makes it so nice.

That is the best part! You don’t have to leave the resort. It’s nice to explore on or two days, but we love all of the amenities at the resort. The spa is heavenly…a girls trip here would be amazing!

Chigi, it is a must! My grandma lived in Palm Springs, California and it reminds me a little bit of it. The water is beautiful and I love the mountains. We go every year though, and it has become a little tradition for my fiance and I. The first time we went was to celebrate his amazing health after his third open heart surgery, so it’s just very special to us.

I’ve never been to Cabo- but hot dang it looks magical! I would love to go to Cabo on my almost two year over-due honeymoon (looking at you Steve Resch!) I would love to get a giant coconut in these Ohio winter chapped hands 🙂
