Happy Halloween Week! I can’t believe how fast October has flown by. It’s been the best fall we’ve had in Columbus in a while, the weather has been near perfect and the leaves this year are the most beautiful colors. I wanted to share a few of my favorite fall traditions, especially because some of these things you can only do in Columbus.
One of the coolest things to do before Halloween is to go to the Circleville Pumpkin Show. They have so many pumpkin-flavored things it’s unreal! Pumpkin donuts, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin waffles… I even saw a pumpkin burger! Another must-do for fall would definitely be Boo at the Columbus Zoo. They give all the animals special Halloween themed treats and everyone is encouraged to dress in costumes. Of course, carving pumpkins to decorate our porch is one of my husband’s favorite traditions. Lynd Fruit Farm always has the biggest selection of pumpkins and gourds.
I have been wanting to visit the Haunted Wine Cellar at Wyandotte Winery for so long now. It’s the perfect spooky date night idea! Another plan for later this month would be visiting COSI After Dark, a themed adult-only event at the museum. They have fun science activities and crafts to make. Bonus- they also have a cash bar!
Of course, we’re always making new traditions for every holiday! If you have any fun or unique to Columbus events or activities, let me know in the comments.
